Satellite Salon Hosts Its First In-Salon Education Day in Salt Lake City
This week marked an exciting milestone at Satellite Salon in Salt Lake City—our very first in-salon education day. As a holistic, intentional hair salon in the Lower Avenues, ongoing education is at the heart of how we serve our clients and strengthen our craft.
Owner Rachael Ellis, a nationally trained hairdresser and educator, led the team through a hands-on lesson in a classic vintage roller set. From sectioning to tension to finishing techniques, stylists practiced the kind of foundational skills that elevate every haircut and color service. And yes—there was plenty of hairspray involved.
After the roller sets were complete, the team shifted into an in-house photoshoot, capturing the final looks in our naturally lit SLC studio. The space was filled with 90s music, laughter, and the kind of creative energy that reminds you why education matters. Midday, we took a quick walk to Publik Coffee down the street—because great hair and great coffee go hand in hand in our corner of Salt Lake City.
